Journey to Love:
A Personal Story
Series 1: Beginning & Falling Away

What To Expect
This is a one-year series broken into six miniseries, each of which is six weeks in duration. Introduction on the first week followed by five chapters. Each series can stand on its own, but when put together, they make up my life’s journey to love. They can be done individually as there is interest or they can be done one after another over one year.
While participating in this series, it is important to remember that this is very personal to each of us. Please be respectful and do not discuss others’ personal information. What is discussed here needs to stay here.
Prior to week one introduction of this course it is suggested you read my personal story to give you some background.
As you get started you may run into parts that you have already learned but it may be helpful for you to go through it anyway.
If you have any questions about anything, please ask your instructor and they will be happy to go into more detail.

Meet Your Workbook
The structure of these miniseries is a little bit different than some others that you may have seen. Each miniseries takes Six weeks to complete. Your group will meet once a week to talk about what you have been learning and how you have been growing, then you will head home to work ahead in your workbook. Each week, you will have 4 days of guided reflection journaling to complete, followed by some Scripture and prayer. These workbooks are designed to help you get the most out of this miniseries. You will then bring your workbooks with you to the following meeting to share and learn from each other. Each meeting will start with prayer, then move to an open discussion format where you will have a chance to talk about answers you’d care to share, voice any concerns that you may have, and ask questions about what you have been working on throughout the week. We will then close off with a short video that will prepare you for the next chapter. At the close of the video, you will be given instructions to complete the next chapter during your week at home.
Periodically throughout the workbook, there are places that refer to the appendix. You can find them in the back of your workbook for more detailed information. In addition, you will find some helpful lists and extra options to work on if you choose to. Or you can go back to them later.
Blessings to you all.

Introduction Week
Love is easy; learning to love is a journey.
Welcome, and thank you for sharing in my journey.
This series starts with a summary of my story which you will find in the back of your workbook. You will read a lot about the struggles that I went through earlier on in my life. I will be sharing this not only to give you some background about who I am but also for others to understand just how broken we can be in our lives. As adults, we can think that we are ok just because we have grown older, but the fact is that there are many of us who are simply surviving. Some of us think that life is normal when in fact we don’t know just how good it can be because we haven’t experienced it as we are meant to.
My hope for you is that you find your journey to a love that you never knew existed.
